Sundials – Daybreak Sundial
The sculpted, determined rays of the sun on this sundial presents a style reminiscent of a woodcarving. The numbers arc around the sunface in an elegant horseshoe. Cast iron became the alternative material and was responsible for the first garden art to be mass-produced for the middle class. Some of our dials are painted with a verdigris finish and then lacquered to stave off each sundial to prevent oxidation, but these dials will eventually rust. We also make a few dials that are pre-rusted and then given a little bit of a whitewash finish.
